If it wasn't for Jon I'd be bawling my eyes out even more. The down part of that is my parents hate him. It's been nothing but complete unnecessary drama that can only really be made up by overly pessimistic Filipino parents who care more about what other people think that to actually be more open minded about the situation. They're entirely ridiculous. One day they're going to need to go to court to see their grandkids with the way they're acting now. I only have such a limited time with Jon that I hate them for partially ruining it. He hates being here now cause he feels so unwanted :( And that hurts about more than anything else.

Oregon was probably the worse state I have ever driven past. It was about a thousand miles of pure trees, cliffs, and farms & I was nearly bored to death on the way there. Nothing really got better till we got to Washington. I personally loved it there. We stayed in Seattle & it's somewhere I'm definitely considering when I plan to stay permanently :) We stayed at my Auntie Emma's cousin's place. The entire time I was itching to get the novel New Moon right after I finished Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I'll get into more of that later. But my 3rd cousins (?) brought us to Barnes & Noble there, & the weather was so amazing. I haven't even broken a sweat since we crossed to Washington. I'm talking about a complete summer of 65-75 degree weather. It's one thing I love in comparison to the three digit weather in LA.

Here's a couple pictures on the road to Canada & to customs;

Canada, btw, has the most boring customs ever. There was practically no one there. Fast forward, Jon & I had been exploring around. The public transportation here is amazing. No one really needs a car when you can get a day pass for $9 to use on the Skytrain & the bus. Everything here is about a couple dollars more expensive in Canadian $$$, so that's definitely something to get used to. I'll tell you something though, they love their A&W restaurants here. It's like in every damned corner.

As for the hangouts, I already found my new favorite hobo area at Waterfront. It's amazingly urban with all the hot spots for underground stores & restaurants. Jon & I ate at Salt Tasting Room & had about the best cheese & meat plate. Even thought it was $15 per plate, it was definitely worth it. He even got himself an exclusive IM KING at Complex Underground Clothing Store. Ah, he's becoming too lavish ;). After Waterfront we took a bus to visit University of British Columbia, which I wasn't really into as much as I thought I'd be. So I'm considering other colleges & university right after my transcripts come in. And on another note: I'm looking into having at most 3 jobs this summer after Jon leaves. I need to keep myself completely busy just so I can keep my mind off being lonely. Especially on my 18th birthday :(

Chalk Board Menu @ Salt

Salt Tasting Room $15 Meat & Cheese Plate

IM KING Come Clean $120

Finis.

almost gone.

Officially just two more days till I'm off to Canada :( I'm so happy my boyfriend's coming with me for the next two weeks so I won't be completely alone. The past few days were a lot of goodbyes. Friday, I had an awesome last beach day with the Brat Pack, then to Pho999 afterwards rollin' mad deep with 10+ people. Thanks guys, watching Sidney White was fun ;)

Saturday night was prom (*will post pics later once it's all gathered up). It was more of a high class party than anything. Jon & I got lost about a million times on the way on account of all the closed streets. When we got there we immediately took pictures, had a small dinner, & engaged with other people. After awhile, Jon & I decided to leave early & just walk around Hollywood. It was amazing, it being completely packed at 12:30 at night. Ahh summer's definitely here.

Sunday night Chris drove me everywhere to say goodbye to all the L.A. hangouts. We first went to Americana & got Pinkberry. We were going to watch Kung Fu Panda there, but there was a line & we're not about to deal with that. Passed by Hollywood again to pick up red velvet & banana cakes at Doughboys & believe it or not, we saw Jesus on the way :) Haha. Completely random. We then went to Sushi Mac & got sushi for the last time :( & even snuck into Kung Fu Panda for the rest of the night. I'll miss you Aldaba :) <3

As for today, my house is completely empty :( Jon came to help out, & so did a lot of my mom's church members. I'm pretty much sleeping on the floor tonight -_- I even had a last coffee date with Ash & Ige, but I'm not to worried about that since she's coming to visit me in Vancouver in two months :) Party babe<3

first of my lasts.

"You have the heart of a designer & great professionalism, I can see you blossoming into someone amazing in art school" Today was my last day at Meat + Potatoes & I can honestly say that I could not have asked to be around a better Art Director & designers. They taught me so much & I am forever grateful that they're one of my first real stepping stones to my career :) This was pretty much my first real goodbye before I leave for Canada next Wednesday (officially one week!) I don't really know exactly how to feel about it yet. On one side I'm ready to move on, cause there's such a bigger world out there outside Los Angeles and the Valley, but a really big part of me is going to miss every single experience that helped me grow. Blah. It's too much of a mixed emotion. I want to cry every single time my dad takes down something from my room which took me so long to get to where I want it. I keep telling myself this is a good thing & that change can only make everything better. But I'm really really really gonna miss my boyfriend :( Even if he is coming with me & staying for 2 weeks. I already know I'll be crying my heart out.

our new babies.

Finally I get to blog in my brand new MacBook Pro. There's not a single bitter fat bitch I won't fight with you. & when we both finally have our macs (I'm picking mine up by the end of this week!) we'll ichat about how we miss our boyfriends. :( btw. fun boys night at Danny's house. Plus with Jessica, Laura & I, which without us, Garrett would not have a chance in hell getting alcohol.

Sunday hits & it's off to Six Flags Magic Mountain with my boyfriend Jon, & birthday girl Donavie. It was so amazingly packed that we didn't even have a chance to ride all the new attractions, like X2 (which broke down after every rotation), so to not let the day go to waste, I managed to get both Jon & Donavie on Devil's Dive ($45 for 3 people) with probably the most scariest 30 seconds of my life on the way up to 145 ft. with nothing to look down to but gravel -_-. It was so worth it though. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. After meeting up with Donavie's friends Kat & Steven, we watched Batman Stunt Show & headed out totally haggard from all the walking. I knew I shouldn't have worn boots. We soon headed up to North Hollywood & ate a perfectly deserved hot dinner at Sanamluang. We got yummy Tom Yun Goon, Shrimp Fried Rice & Spicy Pad Thai. Thanks Donavie for being our Mama for the day :)

"Is this a musical?" At home, my babe & I spent Memorial's day as a tribute to Johnny Depp as we watched Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street & Pirates of the Caribbean at World's End. Helena Bonham Carter & Johnny Depp are such beautiful gothic Burtonesque couple. In comparison to the play live (I saw it with my girls at the Ahmenson) it actually complimented each other. The movie stayed true to the soundtrack & the movie made me understand the play better. Bravo Tim Burton, you've paid an amazing tribute to classic horror films.

"as unpredictable as the weather"

I never really took that saying seriously, until of course it went from warm, to gloomy, to raining, to raining belligerently, to thunder & then finally to windy, with scattered sunshine. Los Angeles has some crazy people in it, but the weather's acting up like it's Denise Richard's & Charlie Sheen's divorce issues. Frankly, I don't completely care if people are pro or con on the issues about global warming & green house effect, but someone, somewhere in a large scale is fucking up. No matter what it is the reason that it's snowing in San Gabriel, people need to stop looking the other way and start taking action to lower down the amount of green house gases each & everyone one of us is contributing to our own environment.

Here's a list of what you can do to lessen your green house gases & help prevent global warming from getting worse:

Change a light. Replacing a regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent one saves 150 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.*

Drive less. Walk, bike, carpool, take mass transit and/or trip chain. All of these things can help reduce gas consumption and one pound of carbon dioxide for each mile you do not drive.

Recycle more and buy recycled. Save up to 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide each year just by recycling half of your household waste. By recycling and buying products with recycled content you also save energy, resources and landfill space!

Check your tires. Properly inflated tires mean good gas mileage. For each gallon of gas saved, 20 pounds of carbon dioxide are also not produced.

Use less hot water. It takes a lot of energy to heat water. Reducing the amount used means big savings in not only your energy bills, but also in carbon dioxide emissions. Using cold water for your wash saves 500 pounds of carbon dioxide a year, and using a low flow showerhead reduces 350 pounds of carbon dioxide. Make the most of your hot water by insulating your tank and keeping the temperature at or below 120 degrees.

Avoid products with a lot of packaging. Preventing waste from being created in the first place means that there is less energy wasted and fewer resources consumed. When you purchase products with the least amount of packaging, not only do you save money, but you also help the environment! Reducing your garbage by 10 percent reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 1,200 pounds.

Adjust your thermostat. Keeping your thermostat at 68 degrees in winter and 78 degrees in summer not only helps with your energy bills, but it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions as well. No matter where you set your dial, two degrees cooler in the winter or warmer in the summer can mean a reduction of 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

Plant a tree. A single tree can absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.

Turn off electronic devices when not in use. Simply turning off your TV, VCR, computer and other electronic devices can save each household thousand of pounds of carbon dioxide each year.

*this is directly from Earth 911

Meat+Potatoes

Who knew that the hours of slaving away in yearbook and a.o.a.t. would make me the youngest intern for one of the most modern low-key design studios around? Hell yes, it is pretty damn amazing. Don't get me wrong, this isn't completely a glamorous job, but the people, including the big man are all pretty boss. Not to mention it's in a loft (so posh) complete with all my favorite fixtures, brick walls, high ceilings, big soft couches, & furnished with a couple thousand $$$ of apple computers and hardwares. I shouldn't be the one to say anything, considering the fact that I just recently watched all three on SciFi the past weekend, but it is, I think, completely insane how they've turned this childhood hero into several series of Lego figurines. No one who grew up watching the real Indiana Jones should still be playing with the Legos coming out today. Yea, there could definitely be arguments to this like, "What if I raised my kids on old timer's heroes like Indiana Jones?" What I say to that is, the moment your child starts fraternizing with German Nazi spies & whipping everything to his liking, we know who to blame (:
