oregon, washington + canada soap opera

So I'm here, not too amazingly happy about it. If it wasn't for Jon I'd be bawling my eyes out even more. The down part of that is my parents hate him. It's been nothing but complete unnecessary drama that can only really be made up by overly pessimistic Filipino parents who care more about what other people think that to actually be more open minded about the situation. They're entirely ridiculous. One day they're going to need to go to court to see their grandkids with the way they're acting now. I only have such a limited time with Jon that I hate them for partially ruining it. He hates being here now cause he feels so unwanted :( And that hurts about more than anything else.

Oregon was probably the worse state I have ever driven past. It was about a thousand miles of pure trees, cliffs, and farms & I was nearly bored to death on the way there. Nothing really got better till we got to Washington. I personally loved it there. We stayed in Seattle & it's somewhere I'm definitely considering when I plan to stay permanently :) We stayed at my Auntie Emma's cousin's place. The entire time I was itching to get the novel New Moon right after I finished Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I'll get into more of that later. But my 3rd cousins (?) brought us to Barnes & Noble there, & the weather was so amazing. I haven't even broken a sweat since we crossed to Washington. I'm talking about a complete summer of 65-75 degree weather. It's one thing I love in comparison to the three digit weather in LA.

Here's a couple pictures on the road to Canada & to customs;

Canada, btw, has the most boring customs ever. There was practically no one there. Fast forward, Jon & I had been exploring around. The public transportation here is amazing. No one really needs a car when you can get a day pass for $9 to use on the Skytrain & the bus. Everything here is about a couple dollars more expensive in Canadian $$$, so that's definitely something to get used to. I'll tell you something though, they love their A&W restaurants here. It's like in every damned corner.

As for the hangouts, I already found my new favorite hobo area at Waterfront. It's amazingly urban with all the hot spots for underground stores & restaurants. Jon & I ate at Salt Tasting Room & had about the best cheese & meat plate. Even thought it was $15 per plate, it was definitely worth it. He even got himself an exclusive IM KING at Complex Underground Clothing Store. Ah, he's becoming too lavish ;). After Waterfront we took a bus to visit University of British Columbia, which I wasn't really into as much as I thought I'd be. So I'm considering other colleges & university right after my transcripts come in. And on another note: I'm looking into having at most 3 jobs this summer after Jon leaves. I need to keep myself completely busy just so I can keep my mind off being lonely. Especially on my 18th birthday :(

Chalk Board Menu @ Salt
Salt Tasting Room $15 Meat & Cheese Plate

IM KING Come Clean $120
